There were a few problems with the 40 teeth gears that we were using. Let's list some of them

Background

One should always try to help others when in need. 

Mission

The robot should assist to the truck parked in the north-east parking by towing it. To score points you have to either tow it ouside of the parking area or to the red area.

Another mission objective is to export it abroad by tranfering the truck north of the north border i.e. outside of the field. 

Scores

The truck is completely outside of the parking: 20 points.

The truck is touching the red ared: 30 points.

The truck is completely north of the north wall of the field: 40 points.

Once you start turning how to do you a whole 180 degrees turn. The robot almost does it, but not completely

Background

In case of natural disaster, fire or other emergency one of the first precautions is to turn off the power supply. 

Mission

The robot should turn off the power supply in the house by flipping the black lever 180 degrees from its original position. In the beginning of the run the team has the ability to select the position of the switch.

Scores

The power suply is turned off from position 1 - 10 points.

The power suply is turned off from position 2 - 20 points.

The power suply is turned off from position 3 - 30 points.

Scoring Requirements

• the robot should autonomously flip the black lever.

The way sensors and programs work in a robotics system is sometimes not-intuitive for a beginner, but nevertheless very logical. Building a program for a touch sensors for "Press->Go->Press->Stop" using the EV3-G software could be quite challenging at the beginning even for experienced teachers, students and robot builders.
