FLL 2024: Collect, Deliver, Rotation work - Nautiq accomplishing M02, M14 and collect a Krill Pro Preview

This video tutorial focuses on accomplishing M02 Shark, collecting the trident for M14 Sample Collection, and collecting a Krill for M12 Feed the Whale of the FIRST LEGO League 2024-2025 SUBMERGED Challenge using the Nautiq box robot (a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot). The run uses a pinless attachment with two locking beams for stability, featuring two main “chambers” and a motor-powered arm with rubber parts for handling multiple mission elements.

The left chamber is used to push the shark from M02 into its habitat, while the opposite side has a passive beam-trigger mechanism to drop a wall and catch the Krill in front of the shipwreck. The motorized arm slowly lowers to grab the Trident from the bottom using rubber parts, a solution that is not 100% reliable due to the challenge of the element but is the best tested option. The side locking beams are essential for keeping the attachment secured during these precise maneuvers, preventing it from detaching during the run.

In this video tutorial we accomplish missions from FIRST LEGO League 2024-2025, SUBMERGED competition.

The first mission is to return the Shark to the circle. Then to collect some of these Krill. These are all different missions. Then we have the Trident which is like one of the most complex missions that I've seen recently because it has this random part of it and it's, it's very unstable to accomplish this mission. You have to collect the Trident and it should not, any part, should not be touching the Shipwreck. Now if one part is touching, we get 10 points. If no parts are touching, you get 20 points. So it's a complex mission. And how do you even get this Trident out of the Shipwreck?

For this we use our Nautiq box robot with an active attachment at the front with a couple of containers, very easy to attach, very fast.

We move with the attachment and we accomplish like parts of three missions.

Let's see how it goes. We start from base, go to the Shipwreck, try to collect the Trident and return while leaving the Shark and collecting the Krill. From a different point of view.

Shark, Krill, Trident - and we collect it. I really close view for the Trident. You can run this in slow motion.

Very interesting way to collect the Trident. I know that, when recording the run live, it's quite fast. So let's see it in slow motion. We have the Krill there, we have a small container. As we move with the container, we want to collect the Krill, and then we want to somehow lock the Krill inside the container so that when we move back, it will stay in the container.

You saw it, there is a beam there that keeps the door of the container up. And as we push on the mission model, it will unlock this door of the container, and the door will go down and it will lock the Krill inside the container. Which is powerful.

The Shark: we just deliver the Shark with additional few beams at the end of the container at the front. We put the Shark in the ellipse there, in the oval, and we return back. So: the Krill - we have to collect; the Shark - we have to deliver; and we have to align the robot to the Shipwreck, to the mission model, so that we know where we are. The third part is the Trident.

It's a two-parts mission model where we have to somehow collect them and we do it with the rubber parts at the front.
