This is a 10 out of 10 tutorial on a basic approach for one of the unique challenges in FIRST LEGO League competitions. This basic approach to a solution is not very consistent, and in some of the next tutorials, we will present a new solution. But we decided to record it to demonstrate how reliable this attachment is when it comes to carrying large objects. That could give you ideas of things to avoid.

This is a 10 out of 10 tutorial for pushing gently on a mission model. We also discuss how to build robots that tolerate error and auto-correct their behavior.

In this video tutorial we look at an active attachment that uses gear wheel and the attachment is general enough to be suitable for reuse. This means that a lot of different missions could be accomplished with the same attachment. The goal of the attachment is to transfer power to a lever through a system of axles and gear wheels. It is interesting that we change the orientation of the gear wheels.

This is a 10 out of 10 tutorial where we demonstrate a reproducible completion of a shared mission. The mission is shared as both teams must agree about how they are completing the mission. The tutorials shows the robot approaching the FIRST LEGO League mission model. You will see how the robot pushes on the lever every time for a 10 out of 10 completion.

This video tutorial focuses on accomplishing M02 Shark, collecting the trident for M14 Sample Collection, and collecting a Krill for M12 Feed the Whale of the FIRST LEGO League 2024-2025 SUBMERGED Challenge using the Nautiq box robot (a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot). In this series of test runs, our goal is to achieve 10 out of 10 successful attempts, meaning the robot completes all three missions flawlessly in every trial.

The robot uses a pinless attachment with locking beams for stability, enabling it to push the shark into its habitat, trigger a drop wall to catch the Krill, and lower a motorized arm with rubber parts to grab the Trident. This efficient approach ensures consistent results across the attempts while maintaining stability and precision throughout the runs. You can watch the full explaining tutorial here.

This video tutorial demonstrated the use of an active gear attachment for catching a wheel and pulling it. This is how we accomplish the Rowing Mission from the FIRST LEGO League 2021 competition. What you will learn is how such an attachment works. How you transfer power from the top of the robot where the motors are to the bottom of the robot where the catching mechanism is. This video tutorial focuses on accomplishing M01 Coral Nursery, M02 Shark, M03 Coral Reef, and M04 Scuba Diver of the FIRST LEGO League 2024-2025 SUBMERGED Challenge using the Nautiq box robot (a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot). The run uses a two-part pinless attachment designed to complete multiple missions in a single sequence. The small angled surface mounted under the robot flips the coral buds from M01 and pushes the shark from M02, while the front arm catches and delivers the Scuba Diver from the coral nursery to the coral reef support.

The back section of the attachment flips the coral reef from M03 using a friction-pin mechanism that stays straight during travel but drops the horizontal arm at the mission model to push the yellow plate and raise the coral reef. Extra axles on the front arm prevent the Scuba Diver from falling during delivery, ensuring reliable scoring. This coordinated multi-mission approach maximizes efficiency by combining pushing, collecting, and delivering into one smooth run.

In this video tutorial, the MiniBox box robot is accomplishing M02 and M15 of the FIRST LEGO League 2023-2024 MASTERPIECE Challenge robotics competition. This robot is a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot that uses a detachable attachment and rubber band mechanism to achieve its goals.

When the robot presses down the mission model, it activates the detachable attachment which disconnects from the robot and triggers the rubber band mechanism, allowing it to collect the minifigure.

We know this attachment may seem a bit complex, but after a few tries, you'll definitely enjoy working with it!

Here, we discuss the effects of applying this method to the two-state duck-following algorithm.

This is a programming video tutorials. It uses LEGO Education Word Blocks which is the scratch version. We enter into details of how to accomplish missions in a tight spot, how to align the robot and how to make it repeatable.

In this video tutorial, we use the Unload Cargo Ship mission from FIRST LEGO League 2021 Cargo Connect robotics competition to demonstrate how we program the robot to keep a straight line while moving. Do we need that for this mission? Probably not, but we do it either way to demonstrate the solution in a fairly simple mission. The program uses the motion sensor to auto-correct the errors the robot is making while moving.

The bench mission was one of the most difficult we've encountered, especially when it comes to accomplishing the mission reliably. The goal of the mission is to push the bench down, lift part of it and leave 4 boxes at specific places. The whole concept of the mission is awesome. Here is how we did it:

This video tutorial is for the Tire Flip Mission from FIRST LEGO League 2020 RePlay robotics competition. Flip missions are always some of the most interesting and challenging. In this tutorial you would learn how to build an attachment and accomplish a mission that requires you to flip a part, like flipping a coin. Most of the complexity for this mission is in the attachment and not the programming, but this is also way it works perfectly, every single time.

The robot is a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime box robot. In this run, the robot should consistently and reliably deliver the LEGO minifigures to their designated places.
