FLL 2024: Latch, Pull - Nautiq taking the Research Vessel for M15 Pro Preview

This video tutorial focuses on taking the Research Vessel for M15 of the FIRST LEGO League 2024-2025 SUBMERGED Challenge using Nautiq box robot (a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot).

This video tutorial focuses on accomplishing M15 Research Vessel of the FIRST LEGO League 2024-2025 SUBMERGED Challenge using the Nautiq box robot (a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot). The run uses a pinless latched attachment mounted under the robot for maximum stability. The attachment features a hook that catches the research vessel and pulls it back to the launch area, after which the hook can be removed and the remaining parts reused for the next run.

Important: Before starting this run, ensure the part that locks the boat for the next run is raised; otherwise, the robot cannot hook the vessel correctly. This simple but effective mechanism allows for a quick and reliable retrieval, setting up the next sequence of missions without additional adjustments.

English

In this video tutorial, we accomplish part of a mission from FIRST LEGO League 2024. We must collect a lot of these samples in this ship. And for us to put the samples there, we must figure out a way to deliver. You can see, like there are a lot of them. 3, 4, 5, 6. A lot of these samples that we've collected, we must put them somehow in the ship. And, then the second part of the mission, in a different tutorial, we must deliver this ship to a certain place. But here, let's see how we even

deliver these samples to the ship. Let's see how we do it.

We start from base

and we return the ship back to base. Once the ship is in the base, we can use our hands. But there is a problem. There is a barrier there that prevents us to do this. So we must somehow lift the ship and get it back to base.

Now, how do we do this? This is a very interesting attachment at the front of the robot. And this attachment, it locks with one of the axles on the mission model. And as we move back, it will lift it and pull back on the mission model, and it will return the mission model to base. But the challenge is, how do we lift it? So you see that it's like an attachment with two parts, which is very important because this gives us the freedom for this complex motion. Otherwise we don't have the freedom to do this complex motion where we have to lift and pull at the same time. If it is rigid connection there, a rigid beam, it doesn't work. It just cannot lock it. This attachment is put at the front of our Nautiq Box robot. Quite easy to add the attachment. And again, very important that we have this front attachment in two parts. Then what we can do later with the same attachment for the second part of the mission, is we can lock the boat, the ship, and then we have to deliver it. That's it. Hope this is helpful.
