FLL 2024: 10 out of 10 on Lift - Nautiq accomplishing M10 Pro Preview

This video tutorial focuses on accomplishing M10 Send Over the Submersible of the FIRST LEGO League 2024-2025 SUBMERGED Challenge using the Nautiq box robot. In this series of test runs, the goal is to achieve 10 out of 10 successful deliveries where the submersible reaches the opposing field, and the robot disengages without touching the mission model at the match’s end.

The run uses a simple pinless attachment with stopping beams for consistent positioning, combined with programming that integrates a parallel timer for perfect match-end execution. This setup gives the robot the highest possible success rate for both mission requirements across repeated trials.

This is a 10 out of 10 tutorial for the Submarine mission from FIRST LEGO League 2024-2025, SUBMERGED competition. We have to lift our side of the mission model and the submarine should be on the other side. 10 out of 10. Let's see how it goes. It takes the robot about 8 seconds to reach the mission model and about a second to push on the mission model at the end of the run. This is the last mission from the competition that we accomplish, so we can afford to leave the robot there.

So it takes about 10 seconds to accomplish the mission. Now, whether we have enough time for it, it depends. Probably not.

We've tried to build two kinds of robots, and one of the robots, it is accomplishing this mission while moving and accomplishing other missions. This strategy works, but it was a little bit more non-consistent. Like, it was consistent enough, but we wanted to experiment with different options. So, here we decided to leave this as a single run. The good thing about having this as a single run, you can run it on its own.

So, we have the whole robot with like 10, 11 runs. We can decide based on time, based on the field. Imagine that you go there and one of the mission models is for some reason not working for you. You can directly skip this run. And you can decide, okay, I'll go with a different run.

This is the good part about splitting everything into smaller runs. The bad part is that if we have like 10 runs, we need more time. If we can do the whole competition in like five runs - cool. But then if it is five runs, it wouldn't be very consistent and reliable. So it's all a balance.

A few words on the attachment at the front. It's an active attachment. This active attachment can lift.

It doesn't have to be heavy lifting. It's interesting about the attachment that it changes the gear orientation. So go ahead, take a look at the building instructions for this attachment and see how it changes the gear orientation and how it changes the motion.

It transfers the motion from the motor through one gear, second gear, then to the lever and it lifts.

Hope this is helpful and I'll see you in the next tutorial.
