FLL 2023: Deliver, Push, Lift - Kufar out-of-box robot accomplishing M03, M15, M11, M04 Pro Preview

In this video tutorial, we demonstrate how Kufar accomplishes M03, M15, M11, and M04 of the FIRST LEGO League 2023-2024 MASTERPIECE Challenge season. Kufar is our LEGO Education SPIKE Prime out-of-box robot that uses a color sensor to detect the attachment frame and the respective program.

In this run, Kufar executes several complex moves while navigating the mat. At the front, the robot features a scissor-like attachment triggered by rubber bands. At the back, there is a mechanism that carries a couple of mini-figures and the M04 art piece. Carefully study the attachment, and don't hesitate to upgrade it if you like!

In this tutorial, we accomplish several missions with a single run starting from base. So, several missions from the FIRST LEGO League 2023 MASTERPIECE Competition. And for this, we use an out-of-box robot. That's the new out-of-box robot, where we have the electronics, and we put the electronics in a box. This is what we do. Out-of-box, there is this green sensor on the side that helps us understand which is the attachment. We have to pull this thing up. Sorry, push it down. We have to bring a couple of mission models right here. We have to deliver them. This is what we have to do. And we have to lift. It's called a Light Show, and we have to lift it, but not entirely up, but to the blue region. A pretty complex mission in a single run with an out-of-box robot. Let's see how we do it. Here it is, starting from base. We start the robot. It's an out-of-box. We put the robot inside of the attachment. It moves.

It carries two mini-figures. It delivers one of them here. Then it pushes down on this mission model, the immersive experience. We have to push down. Then, it delivers two more mission models. And at the end, it just slips. After that, it should return back to base, but to the other side, the other side of the field. Some explanation about the attachment, because it's not a very easy attachment. First, it has this scissor mechanism, and there are some rubber bands. Check out the building instructions. What you can see is when we push, we open the other side of the attachment, and there we store the elements, the mission models that we have to deliver, which is the interesting part. Now, when we reach the Light Show and we push, the scissor mechanism will activate because there is a rubber band pulling on the mechanism and it will go up. Check the video again, see how it works, and in some of the next tutorials we'll enter into programming.
