Importance of the wheels and tires on the LEGO Mindstorms robot movement
DIfferent wheels and tires will result in different behaviour of the robot. That is actually pretty common sense. The real question is what is the influence. Would the robot make smaller deviations if it has smaller wheels or it will make larger deviations? The tires could also be quite dirty or brand new. Or the wheels could be attached in different ways.

A robot a 'day'. Prepare with LEGO Mindstorms/Technic treads
When building Tank robots with EV3 there are a number of different options for Treads. Just make sure you have the once that are coming with LEGO Mindstorms EV3 45544 and 45560. The complete part name is Part 57518 Technic, Link Tread Wide with Two Pin Holes.

LEGO Levitating contraption
This construction is taken from here. It is a little bit modified so you can build it from one EV3 Set. We made it because we thing it is genius. We are "angry" in the good meaning оf the word, because we didn't invent it. We hope that you will have the same fun as we do with it.
We think that this thing is a perfect example of balancing and mind scratching behavior. You also need to be precise with the length of the ropes. And the best part of it is that you don't need to program anything.

Teacher's note: Relay line following field
Prepare the field while your students are building the robots. You may choose a square with rounded angles (as shown on the picture) or any other closed curve. You may use a sumo wrestling vinyl field or draw the field by using tape. robot sumo mat file
