In this video tutorial, we are doing a 10 out of 10. First, flipping this boat, collecting a few of the Krill, and collecting the Monster. So, it's a 10 out of 10 from 2024-2025 SUBMERGED competition. We have three missions that we want to do in a single run. For this, we are using our Nautiq box robot with this nice attachment at the front. Let's see how it works. 10 out of 10.
We move forward, we flip, we collect, and we collect again. We return back to base. What's the strategy of this mission? First, we group some of the mission models that are close to base in a single run. And we decided to go with the boat that we have to flip,
the Krill that we have to collect, and the Monster that we have to push and collect. Because we have these missions close to base, we can go and complete three of them quite fast. So the whole thing happens in, like, 10 seconds. Another interesting thing here is that when we approach the missions, we want to try something different, especially with the boat. So, we built the attachment that's kind of like a little to the side. And it aligns to the mission model.
It moves forward, and it gets to the mission model. We've seen this in other missions, where we try to align to the mission model, but it's always perpendicular. Here, it's kind of like to the side of the mission model because the whole mission model is at an angle. And it's interesting. And we decided to go with this just because it's something new and interesting to see. So it's possible to align to mission models - not only perpendicularly but also kind of like to the side or at an angle.
Another interesting thing about this attachment on the front is that it has a rubber band. Because it has a rubber band, we can have the attachment accomplish a mission without actually thinking how to use a motor for this. We don't have to use a motor. We can use a rubber band. There is a locking mechanism. And in the video for getting deep into the missions, we showed how the rubber band works here. It kind of missed. So it's. It's 9.5 out of 10. We couldn't align with the mission model. But what I was saying is that with the rubber band and the locking mechanism, we are free because we are not attached to the motor. And rubber bands are very useful when you want to accomplish missions like this one - where we have to flip something. Move forward. The moment we push the mission model, we unlock the rubber band. And the rubber band pulls on the attachment and returns back.
The second thing that we had to modify kind of slightly for these missions is the container for the Monster. So this container is at the top of the robot, and it is debatable how big of a container we need. So you should just find the balance in such cases, modify the container. And if you look at the building instructions for this attachment, you can see that it's kind of like extensible. So you can extend the container to be slightly bigger or slightly smaller. It really depends on the mission
and the Krill. The Krill is just here. The small part that you see in the middle of the screen, it's a Krill. It has to be collected. So while we are here, why not collect also the Krill? Now it is possible to go and collect the Krill with the coral in a different mission - that's possible. But while we are here, we decided, okay, let's just do the Krill along with the other two missions.
We are seeing more and more of these missions in FIRST LEGO League. The one I am looking at is the one with the Monster, where we have two things that we have to do in a mission model at once. And this here is a nice demonstration of how we can accomplish them.
Last run. I hope this is helpful, and I'll see you in the next tutorial.

FIRST LEGO League 2024-2025 SUBMERGED with SCRATCH - Solutions and Review with Nautiq Box Robot from LEGO Education SPIKE Prime
Ready to dive deep into the 2024-2025 FIRST LEGO League SUBMERGED season? In this hands-on course, we showcase and explain a series of expertly crafted example solutions using the versatile Nautiq box robot and powerful custom-built attachments.
Unlike others, we release our solutions only after the season ends, ensuring fair play while providing full transparency. What sets this course apart is our strong focus on multi-mission runs - watch and learn how to complete 3, 4, or even 5 missions in a single program. Then, we break everything down mission by mission so you can replicate, tweak, and fully understand the strategies and logic behind each run.
This course is more than a demonstration - it's a teaching tool. Whether you're a student eager to master robotics or a coach looking to elevate your team's performance, you'll gain practical insights into how to score more points efficiently and creatively in FLL competitions.
And with the Nautiq, the fun is just getting started! You’ll explore the power of gears, the magic of attachments, and the surprising capabilities of a compact robot that packs a serious punch. Get inspired, get building, and bring your FLL journey to the next level!
Before starting this course, we recommend reviewing the FIRST LEGO League robot game guide.
