Using everything that we've learned about LEGO Education SPIKE Prime competition programming we arrive at the final boss mission - how do we consistently reach a mission model at the other end of the field. Consistently. Every time. We use line following, motion sensor, counting of lines and border alignment. All the different concepts that we've looked at separately are now implemented together.

This tutorial in an animated demonstration of how a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot could turn precisely at 90 degrees using the Motion Sensor. The goal of the task is to download the program and rotate at exactly 90 degrees. Because of this precise rotation it is easy to know where your robot is on the field and to program the robot to perform in a reproducible way. This tutorial demonstrates how a robot moves forward in a straight line with the use of the LEGO Education SPIKE Prime Motion sensor. While the robot is moving we push on the robot at the back, simulating that "something has happened" and the robot then again returns back to the moving straight. This tutorial demonstrates how a robot could align to a black line. The code for the program is available in the course. Aligning to black lines is popular at robotics competitions like FIRST LEGO League as it is the primary way to know where you are on the field and to develop a program that is reproducible. The attachment uses Luly, a small LEGO Education SPIKE Prime competition robot with 3D building instructions as a robot base.

With this video tutorial we start the course for LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor and how to successfully program the robot for FIRST LEGO League robotics competition. It is good to have SPIKE Prime or EV3 for the competition. But if you happen to have Robot Inventor, don't be discourage. It is still possible to participate and accomplish a lot with the set.

This is one of the last tutorials in the LEGO Education SPIKE Prime programming for Competitions course and it demonstrates what we've all been waiting for - how to reach a mission model from base in a reliable and consistent way when the mission model is on the other end of the field. Programming the LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor for FIRST LEGO League competitions involves learning how to turn left and right with the robot. There are not precise turns. The robot will make mistakes, because that's what robots do. But nevertheless it is important to learn how to program the robot to turn. We are releasing an additional course that is focused only on programming and how to make the robot consistent in its behavior, but in this tutorial we stop on turning

In this video tutorial we show how you can build robots that position on the field consistently and reliably by following and line and then aligning to a line. We also demonstrate the concept of "double align" which is quite powerful and even if there were some mistakes they will be handled.

In this video tutorial we demonstrate a really important concept for FIRST LEGO League competitions - you position the robot on the field with depending on timers and rotations. The issue with moving the robot for 10 seconds and then stopping is that every time it is in a different location. Same for rotations. The wheels will slip, the battery will change, something will happen and the robot will not be in the same place every time. This is not consistent and reliable.

In this video tutorial we demonstrate the behavior of a LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor robot when we use the Motion sensor. The Motion sensor was also referred to as Gyro sensor in previous versions of the LEGO Mindstorms Robot. There are a couple of spare parts in the FLL set and building the construction for the innovation project was quite fun.

This video tutorial is about accomplishing the Pull-Up bar mission from the FIRST LEGO League 2020 RePlay robotics competition. The goal of the mission is to move with the robot and pull the robot up. With this video tutorial you will learn how to build such attachments and how missions that are about lifting the whole robot could be accomplished. The attachment also makes a very good use of rubber bands.

This animation demonstrates the principle of aligning to a line with two color sensors and a LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor robot. This is a useful concept for FIRST LEGO League competitions where you want to know exactly where you are on the field and to achieve consistent behavior. In the course lesson you will also find a live video tutorial where we enter into more details about aligning. We align the robot to a line by moving both sensors slowly until they both see a black line. When one of them sees the line we move only the other. At the end we return the first sensor back.

The goal of the Slide mission is to collect two LEGO Mini figures and bring them back to base. We are demonstrating a simple attachment that collects 2 figures placed in an add way. The whole attachment must bring one of the figures up and then back.
