All you need to know is how to read music notes. Here’s a quick summary:
Whenever you edit a Play Beep sound, it gives you a full octave of notes - from C to C. Just add a new block for every consecutive note! Here’s how that looks for “Ode to Joy” by Ludwig van Beethoven:
The last part of a note is its duration. The duration of a note is relative and can be interpreted by the musician. Relative means that if we decide a whole note equals one second, then a half note is 0.5 seconds, and so on. Lesson 4 - Music Box
Introduction
In this lesson, we will create a music box robot. But first - what is a music box? Have you ever seen one?
The music box originated in Switzerland in the late 18th century, when watchmakers adapted clockwork mechanisms to pluck tuned metal combs. Early models were luxury items, often built into snuffboxes, watches, and elaborate furniture. By the 19th century, mass production made music boxes more affordable, spreading their popularity across Europe and America. Though largely replaced by phonographs and modern devices, they remain cherished collectibles and symbols of craftsmanship and nostalgia.
