In this video tutorial we accomplish the Innovation project mission from the FIRST LEGO League 2020 RePlay competition. The goal of the mission is to build a new construction on the day of the competition and to complete a mission with this new construction. There are a couple of spare parts in the FLL set and building the construction for the innovation project was quite fun.
“Doing the same with less” can save time and space.
We start with the first mission - trying to build attachments that are small and tidy and the Gazon robot allows us to do so. With a few pictures you can see how the robot should be placed along with all the attachments

Our goal is to push the construction to the require place on the field. What you will learn with this tutorial is how to place a random construction in the base and push/pull it to a place on the field 10 out of 10 times.
With this LEGO Education SPIKE Prime attachment we accomplish the basketball mission from the FIRST LEGO League 2020 RePlay competition. The goal of the mission is to put the ball into the basket and to have the basket up at the end of the round. This is a complex attachment. It uses gear wheels and warm gears to transfer the power from the motor to the top of the attachment. At the top of the attachment there is a wheel with a rope. The rope is build with LEGO Education SPIKE Prime parts. If you have the chance, use a different LEGO rope, but if you don't that this one will be ok.
In the LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor set there is only one color sensor. The original Gazon is build from LEGO Education SPIKE Prime where there are two light sensors. The idea behind this robot is to be able to build it from Robot Inventor and to use it during FIRST LEGO League competitions
After the success of the original Gazon robot from LEGO Education SPIKE Prime, we've decided the build a similar robot, but from LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor 51515. Teams are participating in the FIRST LEGO League competition with a LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor set and we know it will be helpful. But this robot can not be build from a LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor 51515 as the set has only one Color sensor. We've build a version of the Gazon robot to address this specific limitation.
This robot attachment is placed at the front of a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime competition robot to facilitate and accomplish the FIRST LEGO League 2020 RePlay Step Counter mission. We can use the attachment or we can skip it.
In this video tutorial we accomplish the Boccia mission from the FIRST LEGO League 2020 RePlay competition. We use LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor robot. In this mission we use an attachment that does three things in the same time - align, push one lever and drop a couple of boxes in a target. It is a complex attachment and it is worth the watch.
