This is Kriket. Kriket is an example of a Box robot assembled from LEGO Education SPIKE Prime and could be used during a competition like FIRST LEGO League to achieve a smooth, repeatable behaviour of the robot. In fact. This is why it was designed. The goal of Kriket is to be a "Box Robot" and to allow for attachments to be glided on top of it. We experimented with building a box robot powered entirely by chains—a unique approach inspired by the original LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Robots. Chains like these can be hard to find, but we thought: why not try to power both the robot and its attachments with them? This design not only powers the entire robot but also provides a great demonstration of how and when chains can be effectively used in robotics.

To build this robot, you'll need approximately 180 chain links (part 3711a), which are available in the NXT kits and some Technic sets.

Thinking about box robots with LEGO Education SPIKE Prime, Boxver is a good example. It is tiny, kind of small and has the brick in a vertical position. Two motors at the front. The goal of this robot is to achieve reliability and consistency of the behavior of the robot.

Luly is a new STEAM competition robot from LEGO Education SPIKE Prime. We would use in some of the courses. It's simple, it requires a really small number of parts and we can demonstrate most of the attachments and programs with it. This incredibly compact SPIKE Prime Box Robot is designed for competitions such as the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) and World Robot Olympiad (WRO). Named Whakatae, derived from the Māori word "whakataetae," meaning "competitive," this robot measures 17 LEGO units in length and 15 LEGO units in width. It features two color sensors in front of the wheels for precise alignment, two large motors for movement, and two medium motors for attachments.

The best part? You can build this SPIKE Prime Box Robot using just the Base Set, an additional large motor, and a color sensor!

This attachment is designed for the Smaller Pancake - SPIKE Prime Box Robot and is used in the FIRST LEGO League 2025-2026 UNEARTHED competition. It completes Mission 13: Statue Rebuild, collects the other team’s minecart, delivers a flag next to the minecart extraction area, and transports all artifacts from the Right Base to the Left Base.

This incredibly compact SPIKE Prime Box Robot is made for competitions like FIRST LEGO League (FLL) and World Robotics Olympiad (WRO). Whakatae (from Maori's word "whakataetae", which means "competitive") is long 17 LEGO units and is with a width of 15 LEGO units. In front of the wheels it has two color sensors which it uses to align. Whakatae also has two Large motors for moving and has two medium motors for attachments!

It's has "V2" in its name, because it's the second version of Whakatae - LEGO Education SPIKE Prime Competition Box robot. The difference between the two is that the first one can be built with only a Large Motor and a Color sensor in addition to the Base set, while this one needs an additional ball bearing. This provides this robot with a lot more stability and can be seen as a true upgrade to the first version.

This attachment is designed for the Smaller Pancake - SPIKE Prime Box Robot and completes Mission 12: Salvage Operation and part of Mission 15: Site Marking in the FIRST LEGO League 2025-2026 UNEARTHED competition. It raises the ship, pulls the sand lever to clear the sand, and places a flag in its designated position next to the Salvage Operation mission model.

This attachment is designed for the Smaller Pancake - SPIKE Prime Box Robot and completes Mission 14: Forum and Mission 15: Site Marking in the FIRST LEGO League 2025-2026 UNEARTHED competition. It delivers all the artifacts to the Forum and places the flag in its designated position nearby.

This attachment is designed for the Smaller Pancake - SPIKE Prime Box Robot and completes Mission 10: Tip the Scales in the FIRST LEGO League 2025-2026 UNEARTHED competition. It releases the large scale, latches onto the Scale Pan, and transports it safely back to base.

This attachment is designed for the Smaller Pancake - SPIKE Prime Box Robot and completes Mission 11: Angler Artifacts in the FIRST LEGO League 2025-2026 UNEARTHED competition. It aligns the robot with the Angler Artifacts mission model and rotates the gear mechanism to raise both the artifacts and the flagpole.

This attachment is designed for the Smaller Pancake - SPIKE Prime Box Robot and completes Mission 08: Silo in the FIRST LEGO League 2025-2026 UNEARTHED competition. It aligns the robot with the Silo mission model and repeatedly strikes the lever with weighted elements, releasing the Preserved Pieces from the silo.

This attachment is designed for the Smaller Pancake - SPIKE Prime Box Robot and completes Mission 02: Map Reveal and Mission 03: Mineshaft Explorer in the FIRST LEGO League 2025-2026 UNEARTHED competition. It pushes two of the topsoil sections aside and lifts the third to extract it. The robot then moves backward and raises the rail, allowing the minecart to travel onto the other team’s field.

This attachment is designed for the Smaller Pancake - SPIKE Prime Box Robot and completes Mission 04: Careful Recovery in the FIRST LEGO League 2025-2026 UNEARTHED competition. It carefully enters the mine, collects the Precious Artifact, and removes it without disturbing the surrounding supports.

The story goes like this. Two engineers meet at a bar (or on discord during the pandemic) discussing which robot to use for this year's FIRST LEGO League 2020 Replay Solution and Review with explanations. They started their cameras, had a hot Carolina Reaper, had an argument, hugged each other, and decided to build Gazon, and use this new robot for the competition. So here it is. Small, 4 motors, 2 color sensors, stable, light.

This attachment is designed for the Smaller Pancake - SPIKE Prime Box Robot and is used to complete Mission 05: Who Lived Here?, Mission 06: Forge, and Mission 07: Heavy Lifting in the FIRST LEGO League 2025-2026 UNEARTHED competition. The attachment positions the robot accurately in front of the mission models and interacts with each mechanism in sequence. In one run, it presses the Forge lever to release the stones, activates the Who Lived Here? model, and pushes a stone into the Right base. In a separate run, it pushes or captures the Millstone and transports it to the Right base.

This attachment is designed for the Smaller Pancake - SPIKE Prime Box Robot and completes Mission 01: Surface Brushing in the FIRST LEGO League 2025-2026 UNEARTHED competition. It pushes and pulls the Soil Deposit to release and extract the Brush.

This attachment is designed for the Smaller Pancake - SPIKE Prime Box Robot and completes Mission 13: Statue Rebuild in the FIRST LEGO League 2025-2026 UNEARTHED competition. A starting alignment guide helps position the robot accurately in base before the run. The robot then approaches the mission model, aligns in front of it, and lifts the statue into place.

This attachment is designed for the Smaller Pancake - SPIKE Prime Box Robot and completes Mission 09: What’s on Sale? in the FIRST LEGO League 2025-2026 UNEARTHED competition. It pulls the horizontal axle to raise the roof, then presses the lever to lift the wares.

This robot is very low, relatively compact and very hard to control. To move as desired it must carry heavy attachment between its front tires. It also needs often clearing of its rear balls and the beads where they are positioned. Ones that is done the robot becomes pretty accurate. If you change the front tires with tires that have higher grip than the ones in the Spike set it becomes precious. Spike Prime Tires don't have grip but looks good. :)

It is ideal to learn how to control robots in real world applications where nature plays bad jokes on the engineers.

The two color sensors look up so it can see the attachment control parts, so it decides what part of the program to run. It have only one attachment motor with only 1 attachment element - 28 Teeth and 4 holes Gear.
