As we are already off the season we decided to look back at the competition. First, we will take a look at the working solution for FIRST LEGO League 2017 Manhole Cover. This was generally accepted as one of the most difficult missions during the competition. We've built a single attachment to accomplish it.

Winter might be far away or it might just be coming - depending of course on where you are in the world. But you can always spend a few hours having fun with a LEGO Mindstorms Snowmobile. A really challenging construction that requires good preparation, concentration and a lot of efforts to complete. Same is going to the mountain in the winter. But the reward at the end is worth it.
Here is an idea. What if a robot does not need attachments. What if there is one special attachment on the front that could do most of the work? Probably an attachment that allows you to move a lever in any direction.
This here is a Box Robot with X - Y axys plane. This robot doesn't need active attachments because it has X - Y table that do the job. Imagine that there is a plane on the front of the robot. With the rack mechanism you can move to any coordinates on this plane.
We have a lot of ideas how to make it even better. We will try to release them in the next few versions.
The M08. AEROBIC EXERCISE is one of the very common types of mission in FIRST LEGO League robotics competitions. I think this pattern of missions was first introduced with the growing abilities of the participating students that were constantly reaching the maximum number of points. So the competition introduced mission that require a lot of time - 20-30 seconds, are time consuming and are complex. They requires a lot of moves. Now it’s time to test but we see that the robot which will choose a color does not have a program. That is why we have prepared a block which will choose a random color!
Let's go fast. Large wheels on the back. A lot of torque, small wheels on the front, good aerodynamics. Here we go.
