In this video tutorial, the Chain Monster box robot accomplishes three missions in a single run from the FIRST LEGO League 2023-2024 MASTERPIECE Challenge season. The LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot uses an active attachment to collect the mini figures, to push a lever, and to deliver the figures to their designated places. The robot starts from the red base and returns to the blue base, performing all these actions in less than 20 seconds - consistently and reliably.

In this video tutorial, we accomplish two missions, but they are all over the place. We have to deliver and to collect some of the minifigures. These are some of the minifigures from FIRST LEGO League 2023 MASTERPIECE, and they are positioned all over the field. In this particular run, we want to accomplish collecting and delivering some of them. The point here is that we move from one base to the other base. There are two bases on the field, and the robot will be consistent and reliable. We collect. We collect this one. Then we have to move, activate this lever. Instead of only collecting and delivering, we also have to activate one lever. Then we move, collect another, we collect another, we position them. It's quite an interesting mission. It's really involved. There are a couple of missions in the same run. Chain Monster Box Robot, one attachment, and it's a reusable attachment that we have to use.
In the end, we get the robot in the base.
Here is how we attach one of the minifigures from this particular competition, just as a note of how we prepare to run the robot. Let's see how it goes. It takes about 20 seconds, I think, for the robot to reach from one end to the other. We collect, we activate the lever there, we move, we push, we collect, we collect in a container, we deliver, and we return.
A few words here on how we load the minifigures on the attachment - things that you can use in your own robots. So we have this loop, and next to the loop, we have one minifigure, and there is a place to position the other minifigure. Then, оn top of the attachment, we just connect. The important thing here is that there are these gray parts right there that prevent the minifigure and the loop from falling from the attachment while we are moving. It stays locked, which is important because otherwise, while we are moving, we may lose the minifigure. Keep in mind and use it in your own attachments.
As this is a mission where the robot moves from one side to the field to the other, it's good that we do another take from a different angle. The goal is to see how the robot interacts with the different mission models. We collect, we deliver,
and we do this for these minifigures. A closer look. What you should do now is try to build the attachment, the robot, the minifigures, and try to reproduce the behavior of the robot.

FIRST LEGO League 2023-2024 MASTERPIECE with SCRATCH - Solutions and Review with Chain Monster Box Robot from LEGO Education SPIKE Prime
In this course, we demonstrate and explain example solutions for the FIRST LEGO League 2023-2024 MASTERPIECE competition using the Chain Monster box robot as a base, with custom-built attachments. Every year, we share our solutions and insights only after the season is over. The course is unique in its focus on multiple missions in a single run, showcasing runs that accomplish 3, 4, and even 5 missions. We then dive into the details of each specific mission. As you follow the course, try replicating the solutions to better understand the programs and explanations. This approach teaches students and teachers the principles of accomplishing missions in FLL robotics competitions and how to help your team score more points.
Before starting this course, we recommend reviewing the FIRST LEGO League robot game guide.
