In this tutorial we demonstrate how a Drop Mission could be accomplished with a Drop Attachment. The robot attachment could be adapted to other drop missions in FIRST LEGO League/World Robotics Olympiad and other robotics competitions. The principle is the same. The tutorial uses Luly, small LEGO Education SPIKE Prime competition robot with 3D building instructions as a robot base.

Raw footage of the mission. Might upload a more polished version soon

Every time we start the robot we want to start from the same place, not only in terms of where we are on the field but also in terms of how are the motors rotate. The motors have an internal sensor for detecting the rotation. Because of this they know how rotated they are. It is a very good practice to always reset the motors before we start a competition run especially at FIRST LEGO League or World Robot Olympiad competitions

Inertia triggered attachments does no require the use of a motor. Let the inertia do all the work. These kinds of attachments are very useful at robotics competitions like FIRST LEGO League and World Robot Olympiad. The robot moves, the attachment falls and grabs the ball. The attachment uses Luly, a small LEGO Education SPIKE Prime competition robot with 3D building instructions as a robot base.

This tutorial demonstrates how a robot could align to a black line. The code for the program is available in the course. Aligning to black lines is popular at robotics competitions like FIRST LEGO League as it is the primary way to know where you are on the field and to develop a program that is reproducible. The attachment uses Luly, a small LEGO Education SPIKE Prime competition robot with 3D building instructions as a robot base.

We call active attachments those that are powered with a motor. This one is in the the mission of lifting levers which is common at robotics competitions like FIRST LEGO League/World Robotics Olympiad. The attachment uses Luly, a small LEGO Education SPIKE Prime competition robot with 3D building instructions as a robot base.

Taking/Grabbing loops is one of the most common mission types at robotics competitions like FIRST LEGO League/World Robotics Olympiad. This tutorial is about an attachment that grabs the loop. The attachment uses Luly, a small LEGO Education SPIKE Prime competition robot with 3D building instructions as a robot base.

Reusable attachments are our favorite. They could be used in a number of different scenarios especially on robotics competitions like FIRST LEGO League/World Robotics Olympiad. This tutorial shows how this reusable attachment could accomplish a mission for lifting a lever. It uses Luly, a small LEGO Education SPIKE Prime competition robot with 3D building instructions as a robot base.

This tutorial shows how quick pinless attachment collects loops. Such attachments are popular at the FIRST LEGO League competition. The attachment uses Luly, a small LEGO Education SPIKE Prime competition robot with 3D building instructions as a robot base.

This quick pinless attachment is designed for collecting parts by pushing them. It shows the principle of putting a robot of an attachment in a very fast manner. Such attachments are popular at the FIRST LEGO League competition. The attachment uses Luly, a small LEGO Education SPIKE Prime competition robot with 3D building instructions as a robot base.

One of the simplest tricks in the game - move, complete the mission and leave the attachment with the mission model. You don't have to return the attachment to the base. On some competitions there might be penalties, but it might be worth it, as you save time to complete another mission. This works especially well with large attachments.. In this video tutorial we focus on accomplishing a part of M08 of FIRST LEGO League 2023-2024 MASTERPIECE season. The mission is to lift and unlock the lever to make room for rolling the camera. It's a simple action but requires the robot to be stable and accurate. We use the Chain Monster - a powerful LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot.

This video tutorial focuses on M01, M02, and M14 of the FIRST LEGO League 2023-2024 MASTERPIECE Challenge. The Chain Monster box robot (a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot) uses a single attachment to accomplish all three missions in sequence. First, it pushes the mission model, then presses down the next one, and finally collects some mini-figures.

This tutorial demonstrates how a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot could stop when it reaches a wall. FIRST LEGO League competitions are held on tables that have border and it is sometimes useful to use the Ultrasonic sensor to detect the border and stop close to the border. The attachment uses Luly, a small LEGO Education SPIKE Prime competition robot with 3D building instructions as a robot base.

This is one of the last tutorials in the LEGO Education SPIKE Prime programming for Competitions course and it demonstrates what we've all been waiting for - how to reach a mission model from base in a reliable and consistent way when the mission model is on the other end of the field. Naturally what we use are all the different concepts that we've learned in the course and the tutorial is more advanced than the other so if anything is not clear take a look also at the different tutorials an concepts in the course.

The Load Cargo mission model could be accomplished by loading a cargo in a number of mission models on the FIRST LEGO League 2021-2022 Cargo Connect field. In this video tutorial, we load the cargo on the platooning trucks. In the previous one, we load it on the trains.

In this video tutorial with LEGO SPIKE Prime we accomplish M02 Oil Platform from the FIRST LEGO League 2022-2023 SUPER POWERED robotics competition. We use the Kriket box robot and an attachment that allows us to lift. The actions of the mission is between Lift and Push, be because it is vertical.. we choose Lift. Checkout the full tutorial for all the 3 missions in a single run.

In this video tutorial we demonstrate how to accomplish M09 of FIRST LEGO League 2023-2024 MASTERPIECE Challenge. The robot is Chain Monster - a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot. It pulls the mission model and precisely positions it in the designated area. An interesting aspect is that the robot must rotate to position the loop correctly, so pay close attention when programming it.

This video tutorials shows how we accomplish a specific mission model from FIRST LEGO League 2022-2023 SUPER POWERED robotics competition. The mission is called - M11 Hydroelectic Dam and in the tutorial we accomplish part of it. In other tutorials when we get back with the SPIKE Kriket box robot we have more time to accomplish the rest of the missions.

In this video tutorial we show how you can build robots that position on the field consistently and reliably by following and line and then aligning to a line. We also demonstrate the concept of "double align" which is quite powerful and even if there were some mistakes they will be handled.

In this video tutorial we demonstrate a really important concept for FIRST LEGO League competitions - you position the robot on the field with depending on timers and rotations. The issue with moving the robot for 10 seconds and then stopping is that every time it is in a different location. Same for rotations. The wheels will slip, the battery will change, something will happen and the robot will not be in the same place every time. This is not consistent and reliable.

In this video tutorial, we demonstrate a full run of all missions without pausing the recording. The competition is the FIRST LEGO League 2023-2024 MASTERPIECE Challenge, and the robot is the Chain Monster - a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot.

These kinds of runs are extremely useful for team preparation right before the competition, as they help team members improve their accuracy, speed, and self-control.

In this video tutorial the Chain Monster box robot accomplishes a mission that requires two actions. We should lift up (lever) and push almost at the same time on the mission model for it to release the batteries. These mission model is from the FIRST LEGO League 2022-2023 SUPER POWERED competition.

In this video tutorial, we demonstrate how the Chain Monster box robot delivers minifigures for M14 and M15 of the FIRST LEGO League 2023-2024 MASTERPIECE Challenge robotics competition. The robot is a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime model, equipped with a special attachment for precise delivery.

M14 and M15 are part of larger runs, but in this video, we focus exclusively on these two missions. Let's dive in!
