The aim of the task is to make students try using 3-4 different values of the relaxation coefficient. Most probably, they won’t be able to find the correct value and might spend hours testing. The idea is to let them experiment for 5-10 minutes before telling them why changing only this coefficient won’t make the robot follow the line smoothly.
