There are so many things you could learn. Why not group two of them in one - gears and staying on two wheels. For this, we would use a motorcycle robot built with LEGO Mindstorms EV3.

Stay on two wheels
It is pretty easy to move forward with the robot. Even to move backward. But can you turn? Try turning with the robots. What happens when you turn.
System of gears for the back wheel
The problem here is quite complex. How to transfer power to the back wheel when the EV3 motor is placed right below the brick. We must use a system of gears. In the previous section, we've discussed the topic of gear wheels. With this robot, we extend this knowledge and actively apply it.
What is the question?
Turning left or right with the Motorcycle is quite challenging. Why? Build it and try. You will find something very important about balance. Is the robot falling on one side? When? Can you turn with the robot without the robot falling to its side?
So the question that you should be trying to solve is "How to make this robot turn?"
Handlebar - Chopper Motorcycle built with LEGO Mindstorms EV3
Take a motorcycle and start removing parts. You get a chopper. Like this one. It is built with LEGO Mindstorms EV3. It has one large and one medium motor. It could kind of turn, but moving forward with it is very funny. There is a "more sports like version" available at Ninja - Sports Motorcycle built with LEGO Mindstorms EV3
Currently, the motorcycle has no sensors. It's more of an exercise in construction, but if you attach sensors and think of a way to attach them send us a picture.
Join the course A robot a "day" keeps the questions awake where we will further discuss the motorcycles, how to build them and what tasks to accomplish with them.
Courses and lessons with this Tutorial
This Tutorial is used in the following courses and lessons

A robot a "day" keeps the questions awake. Version 1
"How to use the LEGO robots to facilitate the learning of robotics by my student at home" or simply put - "what to build now?"
After enrolling in this course we will send you a few (1-2-3) emails each month with a title "A robot a 'day'". Each email contains a robot building instructions and/or video tutorials and/or tasks that should be accomplished. After a task is accomplished we might sometimes ask for a video or picture.
This process gives a structure of the learning process where you can learn from the content. The student participates in a course, but from home and on the schedule that you decide.
