These are instructions on how to build the:

for the FIRST LEGO League 2019-2020 City Shaper Challenge.

Purpose

We want students to be able to easily find the parts and to put the parts back in the designated compartments.

Printing instructions

Files are printed on both sides of 160-gram sheet of paper A3 format.

The sorting sheet is designed to fit in the cover of the box. To gather in the lid, the excess parts of the printed sheet must be cut off the markers on the front of the sheet.

To extend the life of the sheets, you can laminate them either with a "laminate matte" or a simple laminate. The disadvantage of the simple laminate is that there is a lot of gloss. The disadvantage of laminate matte is that it has to be sealed with a clear PVA C-200 adhesive to prevent it from opening over time.

Turning direction

We recommend printing doublesided and turning over the "short edge", like a book. If you decide, you may flip the printed result over the long side. Both options are available at you local print center.

You can position the motors on the construction in a number of different ways. We are exploring the advantages and disadvantages of each of them. These are building instructions for the first way to position the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 motors.

These loops can be used to practice different methods of collecting them. This is a very common challenge in FLL.

In Spanish, "huracán" means "hurricane."

This robot is designed to resemble a hurricane-type carnival ride. It has two seats for LEGO minifigs, each attached using a flexible hose part. The robot spins them around using a medium motor. This can be controlled using a force sensor, which looks like a clown and stays at a safe distance from the ride!

"Muni" is short for mountain unicycles - Munis.

This robot is designed to resemble a clown on a unicycle. It uses a large technic gear ring to move forward and backward. On top of the robot is a force sensor, disguised as a clown. You can program it so that when you touch its head, the robot starts!

In Maori, "poti" means "boat."

This robot is made to look like an ancient boat. It moves using two motors with wheels. On top, it has one mast with a square sail, controlled by a single motor!

An active attachment with a locking mechanism designed to carry, deliver and drop a large object without letting it go. It accomplishes the FIRST LEGO League 2021-2022 Large Delivery mission

In Maltese, "Ikkomunika" means "to communicate."

This simple robot is powered by two medium motors. Its controller is tilted for easier screen communication. However, the back two wheels seem to have a problem. Can you figure out what it is?
