Motivated by the five-minute robot, this robot has its own rails!

Winter might be far away or it might just be coming - depending of course on where you are in the world. But you can always spend a few hours having fun with a LEGO Mindstorms Snowmobile. A really challenging construction that requires good preparation, concentration and a lot of efforts to complete. Same is going to the mountain in the winter. But the reward at the end is worth it. 

We love tanks. You love tanks. Everybody loves tanks. Well, not exactly - more like everybody loves machines with chain treads because they are interesting, not that common, very easy to build and could tackle a lot of obstacles.

The new Spy is a robot with tank treads, which uses one medium motor to turn three things at once. That is achieved by a gear system. Simultaneously the robot turns its two hands up and down, but in opposite directions and its head - left and right.

The robot moves with the help of two tank treads, attached to two Large EV3 Motors.

Building instructions for a LEGO EV3 Robo-tank. The construction is incredibly simple, with an upright Brick, which makes it perfectly suitable for lessons with students.

Let's build a robot with treads. These building instructions are for a Guard Tank Robot. The good thing about tanks is that they could tackle a lot of obstacles on their way. At least this is what people are saying. Try it. Could you move over LEGO parts with this tank if they are one brick tall, or two bricks tall? We would admit that this tank lacks a gun or an arm, but it is up to you to build one.

Building instructions for a LEGO Mindstorms Robot that cleans the landing site when landing on a different planet. Built from an EV3 set it is a perfect simple tank robot with continuous tracks for lifting and moving things. Basically cleaning.   

This is a simple robot, variation of the Earl bot using treads. You can use the attachment to kick balls sideways. The robot is useful in STEM classes where students have to construct robots quickly.
