In this video tutorial we demonstrate a robot attachment that could be used to lift loops and other objects. Almost every year there is a mission at FIRST LEGO League competitions that involve lifting and the principle is interesting. You can build the attachment, robot and mission model from a single LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor 51515 set and learn a principle of building an attachment for lifting.

In this video tutorial we accomplish a robotics competition mission model and we accomplish it 10 out of 10 times. The mission is Pull-up from the FIRST LEGO League 2020 RePLAY competition. The goal of the mission is to pull up the robot on the bar. The robot must not be touching the ground.

In this video tutorial we demonstrate the behavior of a LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor robot when we use the Motion sensor. The Motion sensor was also referred to as Gyro sensor in previous versions of the LEGO Mindstorms Robot. We do not enter into the details of the programming and you can download the programs from the course lesson, but we make a demonstration of how the robot turns to about 95 degrees when we try to turn it to 90 degrees, we explain why and we suggest a way to improve the behavior of the robot.

The goal of the mission is to build a new construction on the day of the competition and to complete a mission with this new construction. There are a couple of spare parts in the FLL set and building the construction for the innovation project was quite fun.

This video tutorial is about accomplishing the Pull-Up bar mission from the FIRST LEGO League 2020 RePlay robotics competition. The goal of the mission is to move with the robot and pull the robot up. With this video tutorial you will learn how to build such attachments and how missions that are about lifting the whole robot could be accomplished. The attachment also makes a very good use of rubber bands.

This animation demonstrates the principle of aligning to a line with two color sensors and a LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor robot. This is a useful concept for FIRST LEGO League competitions where you want to know exactly where you are on the field and to achieve consistent behavior. In the course lesson you will also find a live video tutorial where we enter into more details about aligning. We align the robot to a line by moving both sensors slowly until they both see a black line. When one of them sees the line we move only the other. At the end we return the first sensor back.

In this video tutorial we demonstrate a Grab attachment build from LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor 51515 set. The goal of the grab attachment is to accomplish the mission of bringing loops back to base without loosing or dropping them when returning. The principle of the grab attachment also demonstrates how to have a a locking mechanism. In this way there is not way to the loop to escape.

Following the Advance Sensor Calibration course section, we found the min and max values detected by each sensor. Now it is time for the real deal of the calibration. Detect the current value from the sensor and find what is the percentage of this value for the range between min and max. 

This video tutorial demonstrates an attachment that flips a mission model. The mission model is attached to the field, but it contains a lever. This lever must be flipped from one side to the other. There is a switch. We use a pinless active attachment with gear wheels, and you can see how this works in the tutorial. There is no use of sensors as we don't need them. We will leave the alignment and positioning for some other tutorials.

In this video tutorial we demonstrate how the robot could accomplish the Power Switch mission. Power Switch consists of a cube with a lever and the lever should be rotate to 180 degrees. This mission model was very close to a FIRST LEGO League 2012 competition mission which was called - Oven. The robot, the attachment adn the mission model are built form a single LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor 51515 set and with the tutorial you will learn how to use an active attachment with 2 gear wheels to complete such missions.

This robotics video tutorial is about the FIRST LEGO League 2020 RePlay competition and how we accomplish the Slide mission with a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot. The goal of the Slide mission is to collect two LEGO Mini figures and bring them back to base. We are demonstrating a simple attachment that collects 2 figures placed in an add way. The whole attachment must bring one of the figures up and then back.

In this video tutorial we accomplish the Unused Capacity mission by pushing the mission model outside of the field in the area where we are allowed to touch the robot. We deliver the mission model to the side of the field. Before delivering, we must of course reach it and that's not always easy.

In this video tutorial we accomplish the Cell Phone mission from the FIRST LEGO League robotics competition, season 2020-2021. The goal of the mission is to flip a phone. There were a couple of missions in the past with one important mission in 2017 that was very similar. It is a 10 out of 10 tutorial which means we accomplish the cell phone mission every time.

In this LEGO robotics video tutorial we accomplish Weight Machine mission from the FIRST LEGO League 2021 RePlay robotics competition. The goal of the competition is to lift a weight. The mission model resembles a weight machine, and is actually a lever. There are three different levels and you earn different points depending on the level. The attachment for this mission model uses rubber bands and lifts the mission model.

This is a tutorial with 10 runs - 5 of them are slow and 5 of them are fast and we measure how accurate the robot is each time. How consistent is it? Can it arrive consistently on a specific location on the field without the use of the sensors? The quick answer is - No, it can not. But let's see it life
