In this video tutorial, the MiniBox robot accomplishes M08 and M09 of the FIRST LEGO League 2023-2024 MASTERPIECE Challenge robotics competition.
The MiniBox, a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime box robot, uses a detachable attachment to release the camera down the track for M08 Rolling Camera. Then, with a slight turn, it pulls the M09 Movie Set boat model and positions it in its designated spot. Let's take a look!
In this tutorial, we accomplish two missions from FIRST LEGO League 2023. First, we have to pull somehow and deliver this loop on the exact place on the field, and we have this lever that we want to unlock.
The robot starts. It's the MiniBox robot. MiniBox box robot. It's interesting because we again accomplish the missions with a detachable attachment. An attachment that will easily be detached from the robot, and we leave this attachment on the field.
The way this attachment works: (we have to accomplish 2 missions, well, 2 - 3 missions, 3 actions)
We connect the attachment to the robot. And as we connect the attachment to the robot, there are a couple of things that we should consider. The motors, and go check the building instructions, should activate the attachment in such a way that it will fall down. And from there, it is easy to release it.
Let's see really slowly how the attachment works. It's locked, and the moment we move the motor, it unlocks itself. It's just locked. And when we move a little bit more, it will even release it from the robot. It's a cool attachment. It's a detachable attachment. It's really not complex, not complex but it involves a principle where we keep the attachment locked and then we move the motor and it unlocks the attachment, which is great.
