An inexperienced teacher could easily fall in the situation to repeat a hint 10 times to each student individually. That is exhausting and time-consuming and the teacher loses authority.
One of the tools of a teacher to have authority in a class is to speak once to all students. One thing a teacher should tell the whole group is the theory of a lesson.
The first thing to do is to raise his hand and say “Attention, please”. A teacher should never speak if he does not have all students’ attention. The students must look at him and without parts in their hands. In the first few lessons after the phrase “Attention, please”, they will not be quite silent and attentive. A teacher could rephrase with “Attention on me, please” and on the third time with even firmer tone.

By that point, all students will be silent, but not all eyes will be on the teacher. The teacher should call for eyes on him and empty hands and once he has full attention, he could start talking. If a student loses his attention the teacher should ask for his attention again. But students losing attention means also that the teacher is not interesting enough so a teacher should think how to speak shortly and on the topic.
If students have a hard time leaving the robots, a teacher could ask students to gather around him, but that should be used only on major discussions.

Another thing a teacher needs to tell the whole group is when one student has encountered a common problem and needs help. Instead of just helping the student, a teacher should again call for a moment of attention and raise a short discussion on the problem and how to solve it. Then, if a second or third student encounters the same problem a teacher should tell the second student to ask for help from the first student.
That way a teacher achieves two things - more free time to monitor the whole group and he has empowered communication in between the group. Usually, students don’t know one another and that is a great tool to break the ice and make students friends.

If a teacher needs to shout in a class, that means he is losing the discipline in the class. If a teacher’s throat hurts after class, that means he has lost it.
