Introduction
These are tips and tricks to help you think about how the missions could be accomplished. We are not releasing official reviews or step-by-step solutions until the season is over. Instead, this page shares ideas and possibilities for how the missions might be approached.
Think of it as learning from experience. If you’ve spent years in competitions, you’ve likely seen enough challenges and creative teams to quickly come up with an effective approach. If you’re newer to the game, take a moment to look back at previous missions that feel similar — those examples can inspire you and spark new ideas for tackling this season’s challenges.

M01. SURFACE BRUSHING
You’ll need special tools to clean and uncover buried artifacts without damaging them. Brush away sediment to uncover a piece of this civilization’s past.
No Equipment Constraint: The mission model cannot earn points if it is touching equipment at the end of the match.
Score
- Soil deposits are completely cleared, touching the mat: 10 each
- Archaeologist’s brush is not touching the dig site: 10
FLLCasts Tip
In this mission, you must carefully clean the area with the brush and remove the buried artifacts without damaging them. The goal is to push the soil deposits to the sides and detach the brush so that it does not touch the model. You can earn the highest points if the brush is collected and used in Mission 14.
The mission model is located on the left side of the field, right next to the home area. This makes it possible to reach the mission model directly from the home area. An easy way to push the soil deposits aside is to lower a trapezoid-shaped attachment so that its slanted surfaces push the deposits out of the way as it moves down. Another approach is to insert an attachment with beams or axles so the robot can push one deposit and pull the other away.
To collect the brush, you can use a “claw” mechanism that grips it and lifts it up. The brush can then be placed in the home area near the model, allowing the team to prepare it for Mission 14 even before the robot returns to base. This way, the robot can continue moving across the field without the team having to worry about dropping the brush or the brush getting in the way of the next mission.
There is also a flower slightly sticking out toward the wall. Be careful with it when moving and placing attachments in the home area.

M02. Map Reveal
Archaeologists work hard to unearth important clues about how a civilization once lived. Shift and remove topsoil to reveal sections of a hidden map.
Score
- Topsoil sections are completely cleared: 10 each
FLLCasts Tip
In this mission, you must reveal all the pieces of an ancient hidden map. To do this, you will need attachments that can push two of the topsoil sections, as well as a “hook” to catch the loop on the third topsoil section.
The model is located in the upper left corner of the field, close to the home area. This positioning gives you access to the model from an additional side, making it easier to approach.
It also allows the third topsoil section to be placed directly in the home area, where the team can immediately take it and prepare it for Mission 14.

M03. Mineshaft Explorer
Ayyana the archaeologist is on a mission to discover every secret of the dig site and share what she finds with her team.
Your team’s minecart must pass completely through the mineshaft entry to score points for this mission.
It is not possible to earn the bonus if there is no opposing team or in remote competitions.
Score
- Your team’s minecart is on the opposing team’s field: 30
- Bonus: and the opposing team’s minecart is on your team’s field: 10 added
FLLCasts Tip
In this mission, you must send the archaeologist to the other team’s field. Simply lift the platform with the archaeologist carefully, and you’re done. But remember — strategy matters! If the opposing team has already completed M03 and their archaeologist is in your field, you can deliver it to the M14 Forum to earn an extra 5 points. This combination works only if both teams complete M03 early in the game.
You can also combine this mission with M04 Careful Recovery. Just lift the platform all the way up once the archaeologist is in the other field, and then pull the artifact out of the mine.
Be careful not to touch the model at the end of the robot game, as it may cause the cancellation of your Mission 04 result, since Missions 03 and 04 are done using the same model. So once time runs out, do not touch the mission model.

M04. Careful Recovery
When parts of a site are too dangerous for humans, technology can help safely recover artifacts. Carefully extract the precious artifact from the mine, ensuring the site remains stable.
No Equipment Constraint: The mission model cannot earn points if it is touching equipment at the end of the match.
Score
- Precious artifact is not touching the mine: 30
- Both support structures are standing: 10
FLLCasts Tip
This mission can be combined with Mission 03 Mineshaft Explorer to score even more points in one run. The goal is to take the precious artifact out of the mine without breaking the fragile support, so you’ll need to be careful.
You can lift the platform with the archaeologist almost straight up, making it easier to reach the artifact. Once it’s up, use your grabber to pull the artifact out gently — and the mission is complete!

M05. Who Lived Here?
Rebuild the structure to restore a vital part of the village where people once lived.
No Equipment Constraint: The mission model cannot earn points if it is touching equipment at the end of the match.
Score
- Structure floor is completely upright: 30
FLLCasts Tip
For this mission, push the lever slowly to the left - rushing might cause mistakes. The mission models for Mission 06 Forge and Mission 07 Heavy Lifting are very close to this one, which means you can save time if you combine this mission with Mission 06, or even go for all three by adding Mission 07 to the same run.

M06. Forge
Ayyana’s team believes this forge was used to smelt ore and craft tools. Release the ore blocks and search carefully – one block holds a mysterious artifact waiting to be discovered.
Technicians may open ore blocks by hand to reveal the fossilized artifact when completely in home (see Mission 14).
Score
- Ore blocks are not touching the forge: 10 each
FLLCasts Tip
For this mission, you can either push the lever to the left or move the wheel diagonally to the right and up. To save time, the robot can also push the rocks over the blue line into the home area, where the team can prepare them for Mission 14 Forum. Just keep in mind that bringing the rocks to the home area can make things more complex if you decide to combine this mission with Mission 05 Who Lived Here.
The team must also open the rocks to find the right one for Mission 14 Forum.

M07. Heavy Lifting
This millstone enabled people to process grain and gives insight into their daily lives. Due to its size and weight, moving this artifact could prove to be a challenge.
Score
- Millstone is no longer touching its base: 30
FLLCasts Tip
To accomplish this mission, the robot needs to remove the Millstone from the model. The mission model is located right next to the home area, which means the robot can complete it without even leaving home. Once the Millstone is removed, the robot can leave it in the home area so the team can prepare it for Mission 14 Forum.

M08. Silo
Empty the silo of the preserved food so it can be analyzed at the lab.
Score
- Preserved pieces are outside the silo: 10 each
FLLCasts Tip
For Mission 08 Silo, the robot needs to hit the lever hard so the preserved pieces fly out of the silo. This works best if your attachment has a heavy hammer, allowing you to push the lever quickly and with plenty of force. It’s usually a good idea to leave this mission for last, since the robot doesn’t need to collect the preserved pieces afterward. However, if you’re not saving it for the end, you might want to use a “bucket” attachment to catch the pieces — that way they won’t get in the way as the robot moves across the field.

M09. What’s on Sale?
Restore the market stall and reveal items that were once traded between the village and its visitors.
No Equipment Constraint: The mission model cannot earn points if it is touching equipment at the end of the match.
Score
- Roof is completely raised: 20
- Market wares are raised: 10
FLLCasts Tip
For M09 What’s on Sale?, the robot needs to pull or push the lever to lift the roof, and then rotate it left to raise the market wares. This mission can be completed in two separate runs, giving you extra flexibility when planning your strategy. It can also be combined with M10 Tip the Scales to save time and boost your scoring potential.

M10. Tip The Scales
This ancient tool ensured that each item received a fair and balanced price.
Score
- Scale is tipped and touching the mat: 20
- Scale pan is completely removed: 10
FLLCasts Tip
For M10 Tip the Scales, the robot must first push down the scale. This is important because it unlocks the mechanism that prevents the Scale Pan from being pulled out. Once the lock is released, the robot can pull the Scale Pan away. This mission can be completed in two separate runs and can be combined with M09 What’s on Sale? for a more efficient strategy. It’s often best to push down the lever while the robot is changing bases to save time and keep the process smooth.
The Scale Pan is needed for M14 Forum.

M11. Angler Artifacts
Your team has discovered some interesting artifacts at the port. Use the crane to excavate the site.
No Equipment Constraint: The mission model cannot earn points if it is touching equipment at the end of the match.
Score
- Artifacts are raised above the ground layer: 20
- Bonus: and the crane flag is at least partly lowered: 10 added
FLLCasts Tip
For M11 Angler Artifacts, the goal is to raise the artifacts above the ground layer. To score bonus points, the crane flag needs to be at least partially lowered. The robot can’t simply pull the string, because if it lets go, the artifacts will fall back to the ground. At the end of the match, nothing can be holding the string, since this mission has a No Equipment Constraint. Pushing the hanging lever is possible but slow, so the fastest method is to connect to one of the mission model’s gears and rotate it directly.

M12. Salvage Operation
An ancient ship discovered at the beach is at risk of further decay. Excavate the vessel without damaging its delicate structure.
Sand is considered completely cleared when the pull activator is past the line on the mat.
No Equipment Constraint: The mission model cannot earn points if it is touching equipment at the end of the match.
Score
- Sand is completely cleared: 20
- Ship is completely raised: 10
FLLCasts Tip
For M12 Salvage Operation, the goals are to remove the sand (by pulling the pool activator behind the thick line) and to fully raise the ship. These two goals can be completed in separate runs. To raise the ship, it’s best to use the lever, since the ship wobbles around an axle.
Here’s the catch — if you remove the sand first, it falls into the spot where the ship was, and the pool activator rises up. This means you’ll need a different strategy and attachment. To accomplish the sand first, it’s easiest to use the pool activator, though you can also push the sand — it’s just a bit more complicated.

M13. Statue Rebuild
Reconstruct the statue to help piece together its historic significance.
No Equipment Constraint: The mission model cannot earn points if it is touching equipment at the end of the match.
Score
- Statue is completely raised: 30
FLLCasts Tip
For M13 Statue Rebuild, the goal is to raise the statue. The Seal needs to be lifted high enough to click the locking mechanism so it stays in place. One way to do this is for the robot to push down hard on the red end of the lever, but this can be tricky since the push must be strong. A simpler approach is to lift the Seal from under the head, which makes it easier to raise the statue securely.

M14. Forum
Deliver artifacts to the forum and choose a significant item to display. Consider what these artifacts tell you and what mysteries remain.
No Equipment Constraint: The mission model cannot earn points if it is touching equipment at the end of the match.
Score
Artifacts touching the mat and at least partly in the forum: 5 each
- Brush
- Topsoil
- Precious Artifact
- Opposing Team’s Minecart
- Ore with Fossilized Artifact
- Millstone
- Scale Pan
FLLCasts Tip
For M14 Forum, the goal is to deliver all the Artifacts and the opposing team’s Minecart to the forum. It’s best to complete this mission in a single run once everything you need has been collected. Try to leave it as late as possible in the match, since it will block the center of the field once done.
At the end of the match, nothing made by your team can be touching the artifacts, but the artifacts themselves can touch each other. They can also be connected to one another, as long as each artifact is in contact with the field and at least partially inside the forum ellipse.

M15. Site Marking
There’s so much yet to be discovered at this dig site. Place flags to mark locations for further study.
Sites are outlined on the mat wireframe.
Score
- Sites with a flag at least partly inside and touching the mat: 10 each
FLLCasts Tip
For M15 Site Marking, the goal is to deliver three flags to three different locations on the mat. It’s usually not worth having a run dedicated only to this mission — instead, each flag should be delivered while completing other missions along the way. Be careful when placing the flags, as they become obstacles, especially the one positioned between the upper left corner and the forum.
If the flags are lying down, they take up more space, but it becomes easier to position them so they are at least partially on the marked locations.
