Low current
The current flowing in the system is very low. It's save for students in the cases where the power comes from the use cable from the computer.
Additional power source
Additional power source could be added to the microcontroller. In these cases you must be more careful and check what is the input/output power of this power source and are there any dangers with this specific power source.
Keep away from foods and drinks
Keep the board away from foods, drinks and especially water. You risk destroying it which will not be very pleasant. Avoind placing the controller on metal serfaces. Avoid touching it with dirty hands. Follow the instructions stricktly, because if you know decide to connect this diode to another pin, and not to PIN 13 it's possible that nothing will happen, but it is also possible that the PIN will die.

Safety notice! There is current flowing in the device and you can touch the device with your bare hands. This is not dangerous. But there are a few thing you should consider especially when working in class.
First, the current flowing in the system is very low. It is generally safe for students in class where the power comes from the USB cable connected to the computer. But if additional power source is added you must be more careful. Depending of course on what the source is. The other thing is to keep the board away from foods, drinks and especially water. What you are risking is destroying the board and this won't be very pleasant. Also, avoid placing the controller on metal surfaces. Avoid touching it with dirty hands. Keep in mind to follow the instructions correctly. The instructions that we are giving you because if you decide to connect this diode for example to another pin what you are risking is for this pin to the term is to die. And it won't be possible to use this pin anymore.

Starting with Electronics and Arduino
Robotics is great. Mindstorms are great. But for a student to take the next step he or she needs to take a step back, learn what's 'below' and from there discover what would be 'above'.
So we, the content creators at FLLCasts, in order to teach the world of electronics and prepare the next generation of creators from the youngest age, by presenting knowledge, asking questions and searching for the answers of these questions, are building this course for basic electronics with Arduino, that we call "Starting with Electronics and Arduino".
The course is still in development

Getting started. Unpacking. First device and program
Why: It's an easy and fun example to introduce you to Arduino
How: Presenting questions and trying answer this questions. Experimenting with different tasks.
What: We would like to show you how to control a diode. We would build a device and write programs for this device.
End Result: A blinking diode
