FLL 2023: Push, Lever, Rotation work - Chain Monster box robot accomplishing M06, M07 Pro Preview

This is a video tutorial that demonstrates how to accomplish M06 and M07 of the FIRST LEGO League 2023-2024 MASTERPIECE Challenge competition. We use the Chain Monster box robot which is a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot equipped with an active attachment with gear wheels, which engage the mission model’s gears to rotate the respective parts. The entire run takes less than 3 seconds, delivering a neat and precise performance.

In this video tutorial, we accomplish a mission model from FIRST LEGO League 2023 MASTERPIECE. Here, it's a mission model that requires us to rotate this axle, and there is a lever on the right, that is orange. But we decided to accomplish it in a different way: to rotate the gear wheel instead of this lever. We will rotate the gear wheel instead of the lever. That's the first part of the mission model: gear wheel, instead of a lever. You can see that they are connected, so it doesn't matter which one we rotate. The second part is to activate this lever at the top and to rotate the lights. These are the lights. There is also a push that we must do. Three actions: gear, rotation work, lever and push. Same robot. Let's see how it goes. Start the robot from base. Move, align, do the rotation work. And we're back. It's like two-three seconds. A really interesting way to accomplish this mission. Looking a little bit closer at the rotation work because that's tricky. There is a gear wheel there and we move with the robot and we must somehow connect to this gear wheel and then rotate it. Let's see how the robot will do this. Here it comes. It takes just one or two rotations. It's worth seeing this from a different angle. Move.

Done. Last thing we should focus on in this tutorial is how we place the attachment and how we position the robot in the base. We have the Chain Monster Box Robot. It's a box robot. It looks like a box. We just put the attachment at the top, and then when we release it, one side of the attachment will fall and connect with the gear wheels. Then we can start the robot. We can start the robot, start it forward.

We have these gear wheels. When we rotate one, we change the gear orientation and we get to the other. Pretty cool. Try to reproduce the behavior, try to replicate the attachment and the robot. And I'll see you in the next tutorial.
