FLL 2023: Push, Rubber Band, Lever - MiniBox Box Robot accomplishing M06, M07, M14, M15 Pro Preview

This video tutorial demonstrates how the MiniBox accomplishes four missions - M06, M07, M14, and M15 - of the FIRST LEGO League 2023-2024 MASTERPIECE Challenge robotics competition.

It may seem challenging to achieve all of this in a single run, but with careful planning and solid programming, success is within reach! The robot is a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime box robot, equipped with rubber bands and various mechanisms. Since this is our final run, we can leave the robot on the mat, saving some time. Let's dive in!

In this video tutorial, we accomplish several missions and several actions at once with this huge mission model. We push, we activate levers, then we activate levers again. We also have to deliver a couple of things. This is from 2023 MASTERPIECE. There are a couple of minifigures that we have to deliver. These are four missions and five, six different actions that we have to perform at the same time. Here it is. The robot starts from base, moves to align, push, activate, deliver, press on the lever.

And because this is the last mission, we leave the robot there. We don't have to return for this robot, for the way it accomplishes the whole competition. This is its last run. For the last run, you're not required to return the robot back, most of the time.

A couple of things about how this attachment works. It's a detachable attachment, and you can find the building instructions. But let's look at it. We want to activate the lever. There is a way in which we drop one side of the attachment. This unlocks the other side of the attachment, which will then rotate.

We have the attachment. There is a rubber band there, and it falls down. We have the rubber band just to allow it to fall down slowly because we want to deliver more precisely. We want to drop precisely. The way we activate it is with the gear wheels and with this axle. We rotate the axle, and it also drops a part of the attachment. Drops it down. And this way, we precisely drop. Then we continue with the axle and we activate the lever. These are two things at the same time. Right there at the bottom, there is another axle. And this axle, it's activating with the second lever. And as we rotate with the two axles and with the side of the attachment that drops, we can accomplish the whole mission model. These are like three actions at the same time. Let's look at it again. We rotate. What you can see is that there is a differential. So, see how we rotate in different directions. We rotate the axle on the lower side in a different direction. And we also align. We also try to align with the mission model. Because it's a complex mission model and we need to align with it. We'll talk about alignment a lot. Try to replicate, try to build it, try to replicate, try to accomplish the same or the alternative mission model. Let's see how it goes. And just for a complete mix, let's see from a different angle. Nice. Now, do it yourself.
