This is an attachment that could be easily detached after a mission is accomplished. It's built with LEGO Education SPIKE Prime parts and it demonstrates an important principle for building attachments for robotics competitions like FIRST LEGO League/World Robotics Olympiad and others. You move with the robot, you complete the mission and you leave the attachment on the field when the mission is completed. In this way you save time when adding the attachment as it is most of the time pinless and takes a fraction of a second to put it. The attachment is designed for Luly, small LEGO Education SPIKE Prime competition robot with 3D building instructions. This is a gun which is build from EV3 Lego Mindstorms set. It can load small EV3 Beams and shoot them.

Building instructions for a LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Multi-axles mechanism

One LEGO gear is powering two LEGO Gears and at the end, from one motor we rotate two axles in opposite directions. Follow the building instructions.

The Swing Game is a SPIKE Prime robot designed as a two-player game. The goal is for both LEGO figures to reach the center of the swing without tipping it over to either side. Each LEGO figure is mounted on a motor connected to a Technic gear rack, allowing it to move along the swing. The motors are controlled separately—one by a color sensor and the other by a Large Motor. If one player moves too far ahead without the other keeping up, the swing will tip... and it’s game over! Good luck, and have fun!

The robot needs to get Gerhard’s body into the airlock chamber.

• Astronaut completely in the habitation hub’s airlock chamber: 22 OR
• Astronaut partly in the habitation hub’s airlock chamber: 18
• Possible scores: 0, 18, 22

Scoring Requirements

• For this mission, the word “body” includes all parts except the loop.
• Results must be visible at the end of the match.

Alice is a lovely little bird, with some amazing mechanisms on her feet. It uses two large motors and one medium one as a head, which drives both its wings.

Background

To live away from earth, it would help if we were good at detecting and mining resources under the surfaces of other planets, moons, asteroids, and even comets.

Mission

The robot needs to get all the core samples out of the core site model, then it has options for what to do with them as described here, and in mission M03.

Scores

• Move all four core samples so they are no longer touching the axle that held them in the core site model: 16
• Place the gas core sample so it is touching the mat, and completely in the lander’s target circle: 12 OR
• Place the gas core sample completely in base: 10
• Place the water core sample so it is supported only by the food growth chamber: 8
• Possible Scores: 0, 16, 24, 26, 28, 34, 36

Scoring Requirements

• Results must be visible at the end of the match.
